PhD programm at the Universidad Diego Portales (Phenomenology and Post Kantian German Philosophy)

Regular admission and time frame to apply for scholarships in 2018: September 30, 2017.

As described in art. 19 of the Regulations of the PhD Programme in Philosophy, the admission process is as follows:

a) Receipt of the candidates’ applications by the Academic Coordinator within the dates established to this effect (published on the IDH web site as well as in the programme’s brochures and other outreach materials).

b) Evaluation of the applications by the Director of the programme and the Admissions Committee (one to two weeks).

c) Interview of preselected candidates by the Admissions Committee (two days).

d) Decision to accept or reject candidates by the Admissions Committee.

e) Dispatching of the applications of the selected candidates to the Institute of Philosophy at Leiden University (one week).

f) Decision to accept or reject candidates by the Institute of Philosophy at Leiden University.

g) Dispatching of the information about the accepted candidates to the Office of the Vice-President of Academic Affairs of Universidad Diego Portales in order to initiate their academic registration.

h) Dispatching of the information about the accepted candidates to the Admissions Office of the Graduate School of Leiden University in order to initiate their academic registration.

Admitted students are officially enrolled both at Leiden University and at the Universidad Diego Portales. Students will be given the status of “buitenpromovendus” at Leiden University (this means that they are students admitted by the university although they are not funded by the Dutch government). As regular students at Leiden University, they may apply for scholarships offered in the European Union and obtain a visa to undertake studies or research sojourns at European universities.
